My middle child is getting married next month and it got me thinking about weddings and my experiences with my NM, as she tried to dominate, control and bully me into abiding by her wishes. First it was my second marriage. When she first met my current husband, she actually came on to him! It was disgusting, and I was mortified. Even now, when I think about it, I want to die. As time went on, she showed her true colors to him and he hated her for how she treated me. When it came time for us to arrange our wedding, she said “you aren’t going to wear white, are you?” She did the same thing with my husband, asking him why he intended to wear a tuxedo. Then, she showed up at our wedding wearing pants – PANTS! Her clothes looked less formal than if she were going to lunch with friends.
